Welcome from the Head of School
Welcome to Woodlawn’s website and thank you for taking the time to research our school. I am delighted that you have decided to take a few moments to learn more about our programs, mission, and approach to educating children. I sincerely hope that by navigating through these pages you will get a true sense of what makes this school such a wonderful and unique place and, more importantly, discovering why in just 15 years since its founding Woodlawn has earned a reputation as one of the premier educational choices in the Lake Norman area.
I trust you will find this website helpful in gaining an understanding of the type of community we have developed and foster at Woodlawn, but there is no doubt that the best way to get a sense of who and what we really are is to come visit campus and spend some time with our teachers and students. I expect that when you see our Trailblazers in action you will discover, as I did when I took my first tour last fall, teachers who are passionate, knowledgeable, and love working with children, and students who are engaged, curious, and most importantly, excited to be at school.
Woodlawn is truly a remarkable place to learn, play, explore, grow, and be challenged. We feel strongly that we have created an environment where our students feel empowered to take ownership of their education and where they know that every day they enter the classroom they are safe, loved, and known as an individual. I look forward to welcoming you in person when you come to check out for yourself what our talented teachers and exceptional students are up to on our beautiful 61 acre campus. Until then, thank you once again for visiting our website and happy exploring.
