Applying to Woodlawn
Finding the right place for your family.
It's important. We get that. Finding the right fit for you and your children is a big deal. It is a decision that will affect the daily lives of your family and your children's future.
Admission to Woodlawn requires evidence of solid academic ability and sound character. Our admission team looks for not only achievement in schoolwork and extracurricular activities but also for maturity, independence, and a concern for the external world. We enroll students who have the ability to understand, use, and appreciate the life-enriching insights and perspectives offered by our unique, integrated approach to learning. We also seek to create a gender-balanced, culturally and socioeconomically diverse student population.
To learn more about our admission process, and to determine if Woodlawn might be a good fit for your child, check out our Admissions Calendar for a list of Open House dates and admission deadlines. Woodlawn is currently accepting applications for grades Kindergarten through 12.
The first step in applying is to give us some information about your student and your family. Please submit this form and a member of our team will contact you.
We encourage all families to visit Woodlawn and tour our 61-acre campus. You may join us for an Open House or schedule an individual family tour with a member of the admission team. Visiting Woodlawn helps interested families learn more about the style of learning and school culture we offer our students.
There are several ways to complete this step - all the details are explained on our Online Application page. The fee for the application is $50.
Applicants in grades 1-12 are hosted by a current student for a full day visit at Woodlawn School. On the visit day, the student participates in all classroom activities, interacts with classmates and faculty, meets with the admissions office, and completes initial academic assessments in reading, writing, and math. Students will want to dress comfortably for the weather, wear sneakers, and pack a snack, water bottle, and lunch. Kindergarten applicants are invited to a partial visit day in February.
