To reap the true benefits of Woodlawn's learning culture, there's one requirement: a commitment to pushing yourself and others. Our students know you get nothing by just dipping your toe in. Our integrated and discussion-based style of learning requires everyone in the room to be a contributor. We commit to collaboration, encouragement, and yes, failure. We teach our students to challenge us, to ask the hard questions, to solve the tough problems, to take a stand, to consider the other narrative. We put our students at the center of everything we do.
In the 2017-18 school year, our students, our faculty, and our broader school community remained true in their collective efforts to pursue excellence. We graduated our ninth senior class pushing our total alumni over the 100 mark (we now have 103!), we jumped into second place of all 1A schools in the state's athletic Wells Fargo Cup (WOW!), our volunteers and donors hit it out of the park with an astounding success in our 'Blazers Fund raising over $209,000, and above all else, we continued to challenge and nurture our students so that they pursue excellence on their journey to become lifelong learners.
